What is YHA
This year's YHA is about fostering the most talented young hoteliers in the 5 star luxury hotel scene in
The award will be presented in two categories
- Diversey Contest: as in the previous year, the YHA addresses talents in front line positions with the first prize of a scholarship at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, one of America's most famous universities, sponsored by Diversey. The prize includes flight, accommodation, tuition fees and pocket money
- Modul Contest: this year's new added award addresses talents eligible to an MBA study up until the Executive Management Level, sponsored by Modul University Vienna.
Structure of the YHA
Everybody meeting the admission requirements can take part in one of the two contests. After choosing a topic, nominees will be trained by experts on a given topic concerning the hospitality industry which they then have to prepare in written memorandas and oral argumentations in front of a prestigious jury, consisting of personalities of the Austrian economy and politics as well as the industry itself.

The YHA Austria is an initiative by the General Manager Coouncil Vienna (GMC), consisting of the General Managers of the leading 5 star hotels in
The Chamber of Commerce in Austria (WKO) supports the GMC in his ambition to promote the YHA Austrian wide and became the co-partner of the GMC in organizing this initiative.
